Observation of Significant Metal Enrichment by SNe-Ia on Abell 2572
Abstract
We present here the X-ray analysis of the cluster of galaxies Abell 2572 (z=0.0395). X-ray Imaging Spectrometer (XIS) data are taken from the SUZAKU archive. We aimed here to understand the morphology of ICM (intra-cluster-medium) and also compare the abundance ratios with that of the theoretical values. The best fit is obtained by APEC model which describes the thermal emission from a collisional ionization equilibrium plasma. The best fit parameter values are obtained to be kT=3.12±0.28 keV, which is a physically reasonable value for Abell clusters, and abundances of O=0.32±0.20 solar, Mg=0.93±0.21 solar, Si= 0.45±0.23 solar, S= 0.33±0.21 solar, and Fe= 1.02±0.30 solar values. The metal mass in the ICM is represented by the sum of products synthesized in SNe (supernovae) Ia and SNe II. According to the theoretical models, the observed excess in the iron abundance value compared to the other elements like O, Mg, Si, and S indicates ICM is significantly enriched by SNe Ia ejecta as has been discussed by Dupke and White (2000).
